History and Culture: Spirit of the Place

This summer school features three days of visits to locations linked with important aspects of our history and culture. Sites will include the Victorian mansion Bletchley Park, associated with enigma code breaking, William Morris’s home at Kelmscott Manor, the Lygon family home at Madresfield Court where Evelyn Waugh did much writing and which inspired Brideshead Revisited, Hampton Court Palace and the gardens at Garsington, home of hostess Lady Ottoline Morrell. The visits will be supported by relevant talks and DVDs at Denman.
